Cempasuchill/Día de Muertos

AD 218: Typographic Systems Student Project

This poster design celebrates Día de los Muertos, a Mexican tradition honoring deceased loved ones with altars adorned with candles, food, and marigolds (cempasúchil). As part of the project, a custom typeface named Cempasúchil was created, inspired by papel picado, the intricate cut-paper decorations used in the celebration, capturing the festivity’s rich visual heritage and cultural significance.
